At Nazareth Academy Grade School, our commitment to nurturing Christian values extends to every aspect of school life— including student appearance. Emphasis on pride in personal grooming, hygiene, and dress helps students understand that their presentation reflects respect for themselves, their peers, and our school community. Our uniforms are designed to provide comfort, freedom, and flexibility while fostering unity and school pride. Students are expected to be in full uniform each day. Homeroom teachers will check uniforms daily, and all faculty and staff will reinforce expectations throughout the school day. Please label all clothing items clearly.
Boys (Grades 1–8): Boys wear gray pants with a black belt, a plain white oxford shirt, school tie, gray socks, and black dress tie shoes with non-marking soles. A regulation burgundy pullover sweater vest or cardigan is required. Hair should be well-groomed at all times and may not extend over the eyes, ears, or collar. New optional additions beginning November 2025: In addition to these options, students will be permitted to wear a long-sleeved white turtleneck with a burgundy pullover sweater vest or cardigan, black loafers (purchased at FlynnO’Hara), and a three-quarter zip pullover.
Girls (Grades 1–4): Girls wear a gray and burgundy plaid jumper with a white round-collared blouse (long- or short-sleeved). A regulation burgundy pullover sweater vest or cardigan is also required. Gray knee socks or leotards, and black and white saddle shoes are required. New optional additions beginning November 2025: In addition to these options, girls will be permitted to wear a long-sleeved white turtleneck under their jumper with a burgundy pullover sweater vest or cardigan, burgundy loafers (purchased at FlynnO’Hara), and a three-quarter zip pullover.
Girls (Grades 5–8): Girls wear a gray and burgundy plaid skirt with a white oxford blouse (long- or short-sleeved). Skirts must reach the knee; special sizes are available to ensure proper fit. Gray knee socks, stockings, and black and white saddle shoes are required. New optional additions beginning November 2025: In addition to these options, girls will be permitted to wear a long-sleeved white turtleneck with a burgundy pullover sweater vest or cardigan, burgundy loafers (purchased at FlynnO’Hara), and a three-quarter zip pullover.
Hairstyles and accessories should be simple and in keeping with school colors (gray or maroon). Hair must be kept neat and natural in color — no tints, dyes, or permanent unnatural shades (e.g., blue, pink, purple, etc.). Temporary “wild” colors are only permitted on designated dress down days.
Students may wear one small earring per ear and a small necklace. Large or dangling earrings, makeup, and bright or colored nail polish are not permitted. Nails should be natural or painted in neutral tones (pale pink, tan, clear, or a French/American manicure). Acrylic nails are not permitted, except for 8th Grade students for Graduation.Please ensure your child arrives each morning with clean, neatly brushed or combed hair and a clean uniform. Students who roll their skirts will be asked to call home, and repeated infractions will require a parent to bring a replacement uniform.
Spring/Summer Uniform
Note: The summer uniform is worn from the first day of school in September to mid-October.
Boys: a white banlon shirt with the Nazareth Academy logo, khaki camp shorts.
Girls: a maroon banlon shirt with the Nazareth Academy logo. khaki skort.
Shoes: Students are asked to wear white sneaks/white ankle socks.
Boys' shirts and girls' blouses are to be tucked in pants/skirts at all times!
The summer gym uniform consists of maroon shorts and gray t-shirts with the Nazareth Academy logo, and white socks. (Hooded sweatshirts are not permitted).
The winter gym uniform consists of maroon sweatshirts and maroon sweatpants with the Nazareth Academy logo, and white socks. White, supported, athletic sneakers such as cross trainer or aerobic type shoes are to be worn with both the summer and winter uniform. Sneakers such as skateboarding or canvas sneakers do not give sufficient support and are not permitted in school.
This uniform is worn ONLY on the day your child has gym class. If your child does not come to school dressed in the gym uniform, he/she will not be permitted to participate in gym class.
