CONGRATULATIONS TO THE CLASS OF 2024

Class of 2024 Scholarships

Congratulations to members of the Class of 2024 who have earned over $501,350.00 in high school scholarships! Our students will continue their educational journey at Nazareth Academy High School, Holy Ghost Preparatory School, St. Joseph's Preparatory School, Merion Mercy Academy, Mount Saint Joseph Academy, Archbishop Ryan High School, Roman Catholic High School, Conwell Egan and New Foundations High School.

Nazareth Academy High School awarded The following students the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth Legacy Scholarship in the amount of $2,500 per year for four years:

SCHOLARSHIPS:

  • AJ Champion was awarded the Community Partner Scholarship in the amount of $2,500 per year for four years to attend Holy Ghost Preparatory School. 
  • Regina Durrant was awarded the Principal’s Scholarship in the amount of $12,500 per year for four years, the Music Scholarship in the amount of $1,000 per year for four years and the Math Competition 9Scholarship in the amount of $1,000 for her Freshman year to attend Nazareth Academy High School. Mount Saint Joseph Academy offered Regina the President’s Academic Scholarship in the amount of half tuition per year for four years. 
  • Isabella Durso was awarded the Principal’s Scholarship in the amount of $12,500 per year for four years to attend Nazareth Academy High School. 
  • Sean Harrison was awarded the First Tee Greater Philadelphia Academic Scholarship in the amount of $1,000 for his freshman year at Holy Ghost Preparatory School.
  • Molly Millard was awarded the Blessed Mary Stella Scholarship in the amount of $7,500 per year for four years, the Music Scholarship in the amount of $1,000 per year for four years and the Digital Video Scholarship in the amount of $2,500 per year for four years to attend Nazareth Academy High School. 
  • John Moran was awarded the First Tee Greater Philadelphia Academic Scholarship in the amount of $5,000 for his freshman year at Holy Ghost Preparatory School. 
  • Lucy Pazdunkiewicz was awarded the Panda Pride Scholarship and the Digital Video Scholarship both in the amount of $2,500 per year for four years to attend Nazareth Academy High School. 
  • Emily Reichert was awarded the Fontbonne Academic Scholarship in the amount of $6,5000 per year for four years to attend Mount Saint Joseph Academy. Nazareth Academy High School offered Emily the Principal’s Scholarship in the amount of $12,500 per year for four years.
GRADUATE AWARDS:

The Nazareth Academy Grade School Parent Association awards a grant to two graduates who have achieved the highest and second highest grade point average through sixth, seventh and the first two trimesters of eighth grade.  This grant valued at $500 will be paid directly to the high schools that the students will attend.  The 2024 recipients of these grants are: Regina Durrant and Emily Reichert.

To be eligible for the President’s Award for Academic Excellence students must maintain a grade point average of 90 or above in grades 6, 7, and 8th grade, as well as high achievement in the areas of reading and mathematics in their Terra Nova tests in grades 6 and 7.  The students who merit this award are: Alexandra Boggs, Emily Boyd, Evan Darmohray, Regina Durrant, Isabella Durso, Madeline Ingulli, Samantha Johnson, Olivia Mellon, Vrisha Patel, Lucy Pazdunkiewicz, and Emily Reichert.

The Nazareth Academy Grade School Academic Excellence Award is presented to those students who have maintained an average of 94% or above as an average in their 6th, 7th, and 8th grade years as well as high achievement in the areas of reading and mathematics in their 6th and 7th grade Terra Nova tests.   These students are: Regina Durrant, Isabella Durso, Madeline Ingulli, Samantha Johnson, Lucy Pazdunkiewicz, and Emily Reichert

The Sister M. Celeste Memorial Scholarship is presented to a student who, like Sr. Celeste, demonstrates outstanding leadership skills, takes pride in her work and appearance, and possesses a love for reading and learning.  The Administration of Nazareth Academy Grade School is pleased to present this scholarship in memory of Sister Celeste to Isabella Durso.

The Principal’s Award is given to a graduate who consistently utilizes leadership and talent in service to the school.   This is awarded to Natalie Vendetta.

Frances Siedliska, Foundress of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth, was a woman of deep faith, untiring service, and heartfelt Christian charity.  In recognition for the consistent witness to the true spirit of Christian service, the Blessed Mary of Jesus the Good Shepherd Award is presented to Emily Boyd and Quangviet Trinh.

The Regina Coeli Award is presented to a student who shows fidelity to Christian values by engaging in community service and dependability when called upon by the school to altar serve.  This award honors those who do things from their heart and give their all in every endeavor. The Regina Coeli Award is presented to Emily Boyd.
 
The House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania honors two students from the graduating class of 2024 for their scholastic excellence and their commendable community service.  These students are Sean Harrison and Emily Reichert. 

The Citizenship Award is given by the school to two students who display an understanding and appreciation of civic responsibility, possess strength of character and the courage to do what is right, show a positive attitude toward classmates, school, and community, and engage in community service.  The Citizenship Award is presented to Madeline Ingulli and Jack Rock.
 
The Faculty Award is given by the faculty of Nazareth Academy Grade School in recognition of those students who have faced challenges with strength and have had confidence in what matters.  They have had the courage and perseverance to make difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish.  This award is given to Sofia Fallon and John Moran.

The Ali Award is sponsored by the Administration of Nazareth Academy Grade School. The Ali Award is given in memory of Alexandra Duzinski, Class of 1995, to a student who exhibits the zest for life that Ali had during her short time among us.   This award is presented to Lucy Pazdunkiewicz.

The Philip and Mary Gaughan Memorial Award is sponsored by their children in memory of their parents.  Mr. and Mrs. Gaughan truly believed in Catholic education and were especially proud to be long time members of the Nazareth Family. This award is given to a student who exemplifies the qualities befitting of a Nazareth student namely kindness, acceptance, patience and the ability to find God in others. This award is presented to Alexandra Boggs.

The Grace Stinson Memorial Award is sponsored each year by Mrs. Kathleen Culp in memory of her mother, Grace. This award is given to a student who possesses the qualities that defined Mrs. Stinson’s life, namely her straightforwardness and fortitude.  This honor is given to Regina Durrant.

The Jennifer Culp Roman Memorial Award is sponsored by Jennifer’s sisters, Maggy, Kate, and Emily in memory of their sister. Jennifer was a daughter, sister, mother and friend whose deep faith, great courage, unwavering love, and unrelenting willpower enabled her to succeed in school as well as have a profound effect on all those whose lives she touched.  This award is given to a student who emulates those distinctive qualities of Jennifer. This award is given to Adrienne Graham.
 
The Make a Difference Award is sponsored by the Administration of Nazareth Academy Grade School in memory of Susan Toto, a woman who made a difference in lives of many by her selfless giving. This award is offered to a student who, through service, dedication, commitment, and attitude has made a difference in our Nazareth school community.  This award is presented to Molly Millard. 

The Sara LaSalle-Tarantin Memorial Award is sponsored by Mr. Jack Tarantin in memory of his wife, Sara. This award is given to a former student of Alpha House whose strength of character emulates Mrs. LaSalle-Tarantin who gave witness to: ideals of kindness, patience, understanding and acceptance of others. The recipient of this award is Brianna Crane.
 
The Father Bob Votta Memorial Award for Excellence in Spanish is sponsored by Mr. and Mrs. Robert Drennen and is presented to a graduate who has demonstrated excellence in the study of the Spanish language and culture. This year the Award is presented to Regina Durrant.
 
The Believe in Yourself Performing Arts Award is sponsored by Miss Madeline Pontarelli Class of 2012.  It is given to a student who gives their all in the school plays despite peer pressure and other obstacles. This award is presented to Sean Harrison.

The Daniel Trotter Memorial Award for Music is given by Mrs. Peg Trotter in memory of her husband.  The award is given to students who have within their hearts the love of music that Mr. Daniel Trotter exuded day by day in his life and the willingness to help at a moment’s notice. This award is presented to Molly Millard.

The MORGAN AWARD is sponsored by the Student Council of Nazareth Academy Grade School.  This award is presented to a graduating student who has placed great value in Catholic education.  This student exhibits profound loyalty to this school along with a positive and cheerful attitude. Morgan McCaffrey was a 2016 graduate of the grade school. Morgan had strength in her convictions to be the best possible person she could be. Morgan championed what she believed was good in this world, always with a smile. And so, the MORGAN AWARD is presented to:  Lily Davis
