CONGRATULATIONS TO THE CLASS OF 2023

Class of 2023 Scholarships

Congratulations to members of the Class of 2023 who have earned a total of $714,450.00 in high school scholarships! Our students will continue their educational journey at Nazareth Academy High School, Villa Joseph Marie High School, LaSalle College High School, Archbishop Ryan High School, St. Joseph's Preparatory School, Merion Mercy Academy, Holy Ghost Preparatory School, Father Judge High School, Jenkintown High School, Saint Hubert's High School and Scholar Athletes Leadership Academy. 

Nazareth Academy High School awarded The following students the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth Legacy Scholarship in the amount of $2,500 per year for four years:

    Giavanna Cardella was the Young Woman Inventor Scholarship to attend Nazareth Academy High School in the amount of $2,000 per year for four years.

    Cameron Crumbock was awarded the Mother Foundress Scholarship to attend Nazareth Academy High School in the amount of $10,000 per year for four years.

    Thomas Glod was awarded the Trustees Scholarship to attend Holy Ghost Preparatory School valued at over $12,300 per year for four years.

    George Grostas was awarded the Tim Dags Campellone Scholarship for his Freshman year at Father Judge High School. The award is $1,250.

    Benton Hartner was offered the Principal Scholarship by La Salle College High School in the amount of $8,750 per year for four years.

    Alena Higgins was awarded an Academic Scholarship to attend Nazareth Academy High School in the amount of $2,500 per year for four years.

    Zachary Huot was awarded the Liebermann Scholarship in the amount of $2,500 per year for four years to attend Holy Ghost Preparatory School.

    Nicholas Kane was offered a St. Francis DeSales Academic Scholarship by Father Jude High School in the amount of $5,000 per year for four years. Nicholas received the honor of a nomination to be a Maguire Scholar, he will receive $6,500 per year for four years to attend Holy Ghost Preparatory School.

    Colin Kivlin was offered a Presidential Scholarship by Holy Ghost Preparatory School in the amount of $8,500 per year for four years. Father Judge High School offered Colin the Presidential Academic Scholarship in the amount of $9,400 per year for four years. Colin was offered the Principal’s Scholarship by LaSalle College High School in the amount of $8,750 per year for four years. Archbishop Wood High School offered Colin an Academic Scholarship in the amount of $5,000 per year for four years. Colin was awarded the Xaverian Scholarship to attend St. Joseph’s Preparatory School. The scholarship is valued at $9,000 per year for four years.

    Gabriel Kuzowsky was offered the Trustees Scholarship by Holy Ghost Preparatory School in the amount of $12,300 per year for four years. Father Judge High School offered Gabriel the Presidential Academic Scholarship in the amount of $9,400 per year for four years. Gabriel received the Brother Carl Clayton Presidential Scholar award to attend LaSalle College High School. The award is $20,000 per year for four years.

    John McMullin was awarded a scholarship to Scholar Athletes Leadership Academy in the amount of $4,000.  

    Juliah Pierre was offered the Panda Pride Scholarship by Nazareth Academy High School in the amount of $2,500 per year for four years.  Juliah was awarded the Howley Scholarship valued at $ 20,800 per year for four years to attend Merion Mercy Academy.

    Evelyn Pigott was awarded the Panda Pride Scholarship in the amount of $2,500 per year for four years and the Digital Video Scholarship in the amount of $2,000 per year for four years to attend Nazareth Academy High School.

    Natalie Stipa received an Academic Scholarship to attend St. Hubert’s Catholic High School in the amount of $2,000 per year for four years.

ADDITIONAL AWARDS:

2. The Nazareth Academy Grade School Parent Association awards a grant to two graduates who have achieved the highest and second highest grade point average through sixth, seventh and the first two trimesters of eighth grade.  This grant valued at $500 will be paid directly to the high schools that the students will attend.  The 2023 recipients of these grants are: Matthew Driscoll and Gabriel Kuzowsky
3. To be eligible for the President’s Award for Academic Excellence students must maintain a grade point average of 90 or above in grades 6, 7, and 8th grade, as well as high achievement in the areas of reading and mathematics in their Terra Nova tests in grades 6 and 7.  The students who merit this award are: Logan Cassidy, Cameron Crumbock, Thomas Glod, Benton Hartner, Alena Higgins, Zachary Huot, Nicholas Kane, Colin Kivlin, Gabriel Kuzowsky, Juliah Pierre, Evelyn Rae Pigott, and Adriana Seravalli
4. The Nazareth Academy Grade School Academic Excellence Award is presented to those students who have maintained an average of 94% or above as an average in their 6th, 7th, and 8th grade years as well as high achievement in the areas of reading and mathematics in their 6th and 7th grade Terra Nova tests.   These students are: Logan John Cassidy, Cameron Crumbock, Thomas Glod, Alena Higgins, Zachary Huot, Nicholas Kane, Colin Kivlin, Gabriel Kuzowsky, Juliah Pierre, Evelyn Pigott, and Adriana Seravalli
5. The Sister M. Celeste Memorial Scholarship is presented to a student who, like Sr. Celeste, demonstrates outstanding leadership skills, takes pride in her work and appearance, and possesses a love for reading and learning.  The Administration of Nazareth Academy Grade School is pleased to present this scholarship in memory of Sister Celeste to Cameron Crumbock
6. The Principal’s Award is given to a graduate who consistently utilizes leadership and talent in service to the school.   This is awarded to Mary Hamme
7. Frances Siedliska, Foundress of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth, was a woman of deep faith, untiring service, and heartfelt Christian charity.  In recognition for the consistent witness to the true spirit of Christian service, the Blessed Mary of Jesus the Good Shepherd Award is presented to Giavanna Cardella, Benton Hartner, Alena Higgins, and Natalie Stipa
8. The Regina Coeli Award is presented to a student who shows fidelity to Christian values by engaging in community service and dependability when called upon by the school.  This award honors those who do things from their heart and give their all in every endeavor. The Regina Coeli Award is presented to Zachary Huot
 9.  The House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania honors two students from the graduating class of 2023 for their scholastic excellence and their commendable community service.  These students are Claire Konrad and Keiragh Krzywicki
10. The Citizenship Award is given by the school to students who display an understanding and appreciation of civic responsibility, possess strength of character and the courage to do what is right, show a positive attitude toward classmates, school, and community, and engage in community service.  The Citizenship Award is presented to Thomas Glod and Gabriel Kuzowsky 
11. The Faculty Award is given by the faculty of Nazareth Academy Grade School in recognition of those students who have faced challenges with strength and have had confidence in what matters.  They have had the courage and perseverance to make difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish.  This award is given to George Grostas and Emily Pezzotta
12. The Ali Award is sponsored by the Administration of Nazareth Academy Grade School. The Ali Award is given in memory of Alexandra Duzinski, Class of 1995 to a student who exhibits the zest for life that Ali had during her short time among us.   This award is presented to Colin Kivlin
13. The Philip and Mary Gaughan Memorial Award is sponsored by their children in memory of their parents.  Mr. and Mrs. Gaughan truly believed in Catholic education and were especially proud to be long time members of the Nazareth Family. This award is given to a student who exemplifies the qualities befitting of a Nazareth student namely kindness, acceptance, patience and the ability to find God in others. This award is presented to Logan Cassidy
14. The Grace Stinson Memorial Award is sponsored each year by Mrs. Kathleen Culp in memory of her mother, Grace. This award is given to a student who possesses the qualities that defined Mrs. Stinson’s life, namely her straightforwardness and fortitude.  This honor is given to Adriana Seravalli
15. The Jennifer Culp Roman Memorial Award is sponsored by Jennifer’s sisters, Maggy, Kate, and Emily in memory of their sister. Jennifer was a daughter, sister, mother and friend whose deep faith, great courage, unwavering love, and unrelenting willpower enabled her to succeed in school as well as have a profound effect on all those whose lives she touched.  This award is given to a student who emulates those distinctive qualities of Jennifer. This award is given to Mary Hamme
16. The Make a Difference Award is sponsored by the Administration of Nazareth Academy Grade School in memory of Susan Toto, a woman who made a difference in lives of many by her selfless giving. This award is offered to a student who, through service, dedication, commitment, and attitude has made a difference in our Nazareth school community.  This award is presented to Evelyn Pigott
17. The Sara LaSalle-Tarantin Memorial Award is sponsored by Mr. Jack Tarantin in memory of his wife, Sara. This award is given to a former student of Alpha House whose strength of character emulates Mrs. LaSalle-Tarantin who gave witness to: ideals of kindness, patience, understanding and acceptance of others. The recipient of this award is Nicholas Kane
 18. The Father Bob Votta Memorial Award for Excellence in Spanish is sponsored by Mr. and Mrs. Robert Drennen and is presented to a graduate who has demonstrated excellence in the study of the Spanish language and culture. This year the Award is presented to Cameron Crumbock
19. The Believe in Yourself Performing Arts Award is sponsored by Miss Madeline Pontarelli Class of 2012.  It is given to a student who gives their all in the school plays despite peer pressure and other obstacles. This award is presented to Zachary Huot
20. The Daniel Trotter Memorial Award for Music is given by Mrs. Peg Trotter in memory of her husband.  The award is given to students who have within their hearts the love of music that Mr. Daniel Trotter exuded day by day in his life and the willingness to help at a moment’s notice. This award is presented to Thomas Glod and Nicholas Kane
21. The MORGAN AWARD is sponsored by the Student Council of Nazareth Academy Grade School.  This award is presented to a graduating student who has placed great value in Catholic education.  This student exhibits profound loyalty to this school along with a positive and cheerful attitude. Morgan McCaffrey was a 2016 graduate of the grade school. Morgan had strength in her convictions to be the best possible person she could be. Morgan championed what she believed was good in this world, always with a smile.  And so, the MORGAN AWARD is presented to:  Matthew Driscoll.
